The mission of the Turkish Society of Cardiology is 'to prevent the cardiovascular risk of the Turkish population by supporting the professional and public education and research'.
Now with 1384 members, ten Working Groups and Board Committees, it is the most active medical professional society in the country.
The Annual Congress is the most prominent medical event in the country and attracts more than 3300 people. Besides the working groups perform numerous educational activities around the country throughout the year. In 2007, 8000 medical doctors participated in the 27 CME meetings and the annual congress, that was accredited by EBAC.
The Turkish Society of Cardiology has pioneered and completed the "National Heart Health Policy" at the end of 2006. "European Heart Health Charter" was signed by the Ministry of Health, president of the National Assembly’s Health Commission and 8 other medical specialty societies in December 26, 2007. The Ministry announced the Strategic Plan and Action Plan based on the National Policy during the Signing Ceremony. TSC participates in all possible modules of the EuroHeart Health Project.
The Journal, Archives of the Turkish Society of Cardiology -indexed in PubMed, IndexMedicus, MEDLINE and IndexCopernicus- has been a regular, peer-reviewed journal accepting papers in Turkish and English.
The new headquarter of the Society is a 1500 sqm flat providing office spaces, a lecture room for 100 people and additional meeting rooms. A team of 7 employees and a Press Relations Consultant under the management of the Chief Executive Officer provide professional service for all the TSC activities, national and international.
