The Slovenian Society of Cardiology represents the top professional organization in the field of cardiovascular (CV) medicine in Slovenia.
The main aims:
- education and research in CV medicine,
- modern methods implementation, and leadership in clinical practice guidelines development,
- international collaboration with experts and institutions; SSC was the founder of activities among cardiologists in the Alpe – Adria region,
- cardiology care organisation at the national level together with state health care authorities,
- partnership with scientific and non-governmental organizations.
The Slovenian Society of Cardiology is being organized in 16 different Working Groups and runs Cardiovascular Research Centre. Annually it organizes at least 3 scientific meetings at the national level, internationally attended.
In 2002, The Slovenian Society of Cardiology and co-founders put into practice the project of Slovenian Heart House with the aim to establish proper environment for efficient collaboration between scientific societies of CV medicine and institutions/individuals from the civil society in prevention, diagnostics and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
