Euro Heart Survey/Registry Programme Committees 2009

Structure and Organization

The structure and the organization of the programme are designed to achieve the above objectives. The main features are:
 - Use of appropriate methodological procedures
 - Network of volunteer centres appointed by ESC constituent bodies
 - Use on-line electronic CRF allowing user friendly web based data entry
 - Full involvement of the ESC National Societies and relevant ESC Constituent Bodies

The duration of the Oversight Committee is four years (two terms of the Board). In the future the Past Chairman of the Oversight committee will also be part of the committee, this is to ensure continuity. The Oversight Committee will propose a name of the future Chairman to the President and the Board. The ESC President cannot be Chairman of a registry whereas the Past President can, particularly if the subject does not have a specific area of reference such as an Association or WG.

The Oversight Committee and the Executive Committee should meet at least twice a year to carry out a monitoring of the studies. The Oversight Committee should meet once a year together with all the Chairmen of all the registries and surveys.
