Call for new members of the nucleus

The board of the Working Group, also known as the nucleus, represents the WG in various platforms, such as within the ESC itself. The nucleus organises meetings and PR activities, The nucleus holds an official nucleus meeting twice a year: one during the annual ESC congress, and one during spring time. The next nucleus meeting will be held in Osijek in March, during the aforementioned Symposium. Presently, the nucleus consists of 10 members. Every 2 years, during the annual ESC congress, there is a rotation of the nucleus members. The next rotation will be at the ESC congress 2012 in Munich. The present vice-chairman, Marek Malik, will then become chairman, and the present chairman will become past-chairman.

Goran Krstacic was recently elected as the new vice-chairman by the nucleus members; he will become chairman in 2014. Furthermore, during the nucleus meeting in August in Munich, five of the nucleus members have to step down. This means that there is a need for 5 new nucleus members. For this reason, I would like to invite all Working Group members to consider becoming candidates for one of the positions of the WG nucleus.

We would like to have a variety of relevant knowledge and expertise represented among the Nucleus of the Working Group. We would like to have the Nucleus composed not only of members representing different areas in the broad field of e-Cardiology but also involving members with established scientific record in the field. Therefore, we would be most grateful if everyone interested in becoming a member of the Working Group Nucleus would send us a short CV, with a list of his / her publications, and with the motivation of why he or she would like to become nucleus member.

We would like to receive these notifications of interest before the end of March 2012. Expressions of interest to become nucleus member should be sent to the ESC administration, through the online application form.

Enno van der Velde, PhD, FESC
Chairman of the ESC Working Group on e-Cardiology
