Candidate nominations for the 2016-2018 ESC Board, Nominating Committee and Audit Committee

The candidates have been selected from the proposals received by the Nominating Committee from the National Societies, Associations, Working Groups and Councils.

The postal voting will be held for all voting positions in the Board, 12 members of the Nominating Committee and one member of the Audit Committee.



You should vote for the following positions in:

The Board of the ESC for period 2016-2018

  • 2 candidates are proposed for the position of President-Elect (1 position).
  • 2 candidates are proposed for the position of Secretary-Treasurer (1 position).
  • 5 candidates are proposed for the positions of Vice-President (3 positions).
  • 12 candidates are proposed for the positions of Councillor (6 positions).

The Nominating Committee of the ESC for the period 2016 - 2018

  • 9 candidates are proposed as representatives of the National Societies (6 can be elected).
  • 9 candidates are proposed as representatives of the Associations, Working Groups and Councils (6 can be elected).

Timelines

  • Thursday 3 March 2016: Oral presentation of the candidates for President elect during Spring Summit 2016
  • Monday 7 March 2016: Call to Constituent Bodies for the names of voting delegates
  • Monday 21 March 2016: Second Call to Constituent Bodies for the names of voting delegates
  • Monday 28 March 2016: Final Call to Constituent Bodies for the names of voting delegates
  • Thursday 7 April 2016: Deadline for reception of the names of voting delegates.  
  • Monday 2 May 2016: Start of the postal ballot.
  • Friday 24 June 2016: Reception deadline of postal ballots at the French legal office. Start of the counting of votes.   
  • Monday 4 July 2016: Results published on the ESC website.

In case of inconclusive results, a second round will be conducted at the voting bureau at the time of the ESC congress 2016 in Rome.

Bylaws

There is a code of conduct to be respected by candidates to an elective ESC Board position. This code of conduct needs to be approved and signed by any candidate to an elective position:

  • Candidates for elective positions at the ESC Board should refrain from canvassing activities such as travelling to meet Constituent Bodies for reasons not related to their current ESC activities or direct mailing or e-mailing to Constituent Bodies.
  • Board members of the ESC and Past Presidents of the ESC should not campaign for any candidate to elective Board positions.
  • Candidates  for President Elect position are allowed to present their manifesto at the Spring Summit during a 15-minute presentation and send to all the Constituent Bodies a 5-page document max. summarizing their CV and views.
  • Candidates for other elective positions: Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer/ Councilors are allowed to send a 2-page document maximum summarizing their CV and objectives to the Constituent Bodies.
  • No other form of campaign activity is allowed during the election period, which starts with the official publication of the final slate to the end of the voting period.
