EuroAspire III’s principle results of the hospital survey to be presented at the ESC Congress 2007


EuroAspire III is a European survey of the practice of preventive cardiology involving 22 countries and is aimed at objectively assessing the clinical implementation of the 3rd Joint Task Force Guidelines on CVD Prevention on a national level.

  • The principle results of the hospital survey will be presented at the ESC Congress 2007 in Vienna at the main scientific session scheduled on Tuesday 4 September at 08:30am.
  • 13,598 records of patients with coronary heart disease have been submitted for analysis.
  • 8,966 patient interviews have been conducted based on the survey criteria and addressing issues such as patient history, lifestyle changes, identification of risk factors (weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, physical activity and diabetes), medication and family history.
  • A comparative analysis will be conducted in 8 countries (Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands and Slovenia) involved in the hospital surveys of EuroAspire I, II and III and will also be presented at the ESC Congress.
  • The primary care survey of apparently healthy individuals at high risk of developing coronary heart disease will be presented in May 2008 at the occasion of the EuroPRevent 2008 congress in Paris.
