ESCeL future developments

The ESC eLearning platform has been launched on 1 February 2013 under the lead of Professor Lino Goncalves : future developments are already envisaged

"What you see now, Prof Lino Goncalves stressed, is just the start"

In future there are plans for the EAPCI ESCeL platform content to be translated into different national languages (because people often learn best in their own language), for the establishment of online discussion groups for different topics, and to spread to many more countries outside Europe.

While the first version of ESCeL will only accept trainees, it is anticipated that future programmes will be developed for graduates of the initial platform and also for senior doctors who want to keep updated.

“To keep driving standards up we feel that no one should be excluded from this educational revolution. The bottom line is that better trained and educated doctors will result in better treatment for patients making it of the up most importance that National Societies and individual cardiologists join our endeavor” said Goncalves.
