The ESC Committee for European Relations is committed to reach the following objectives:
- To increase standing of CV research at EU level
- To explore mutual interests in the field of Research together with Cancer, Diabetes, Hypertension, Atherosclerosis
- To ensure exchange and communication with European Institutions such as DG Research and
- Promote a global view or CV research, particularly translational research (including translation of basic to clinical (trials) and from evidence to practice (outcomes research)
- Lobby for streamlined application and budgetary procedures for EU funding
- Lobby for improved reviewing of EU scientific applications
- Circulate information on EU CV research programs to ESC constituent bodies and constituents
- To increase attractiveness of Research for junior doctors/trainees
