Certification Exams

The ESC is offering cardiology practitioners a range of certifications to test and assess their knowledge, skills and performance in their practice following post-graduation, educational and training experiences.

ESC certifications are both a proof of professional excellence to the patients and a way for practitioners to enhance their good practice.

EACVI section Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Certification Exam
Registration for the CMR certification exam is now open. The aim of this process is to set a European standard for competency in the practice of CMR for the benefit of patients undergoing CMR studies. Ultimately, the goal is to develop a standard of training in CMR that is mutually accepted by national and European authorities and internationally recognised. This can be achieved only after passing the exam and logbook sections of the process. Vienna

EACVI/EACTA Transesophageal Echocardiography Certification Exam
This is a multiple choice questions exam. Successful completion of the exam and logbook process will provide full certification with EACVI/EACTA in TEE. This provides the formal and European recognition for individuals, governed by a scientific society. Leipzig

EACVI Transthoracic Echocardiography Certification Exam
The next TTE certification exam to begin the process of EACVI Certification will take place at the end of the ESC Congress 2014. This European certification is designed to test the competency of an individual to be able to perform, interpret, and report routine transthoracic echocardiographic studies unsupervised. Certification can only be achieved after passing both the exam and logbook sections. Barcelona

EACVI:

  • EACVI exam in TEE: 6 June 2013 in Barcelona, during the EACTA Congress 2013 (13:00 - 18:00).
  • EACVI exam in TTE: during the ESC Congress 2013, in Amsterdam
  • EACVI exams in TTE, TEE & CHD: during the Euroecho & other Imaging Modalities 2013, in Istanbul

EHRA:

  • EHRA exams in AP, CP & EP: during the Europace congress 2013, in Athens.

ACCA:

  • ACCA certification exam: during the Acute Cardiac Care 2013, in Madrid
