Basic Science Scientific Sessions for ESC Congress 2023

Submit your proposals now!

The ESC Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science (CBCS) invites all Working Groups and Sister Societies of the Council to submit proposals for the basic science scientific programme at ESC Congress 2023 in Amsterdam.

Dear friends and colleagues,

We would like to solicit scientific session proposals for ESC Congress 2023 which will take place in Amsterdam. To generate high-quality scientific content for basic and translational science, the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science (CBCS) has developed a "Pre-Scope" process.

The submitted proposals will be evaluated by CBCS Members and selected, modified or merged to generate a comprehensive and matching list of proposals for the ESC INTRA SCOPE process. Further selection and refinement will be undertaken by the ESC Congress Programme Committee upon obtaining the results of the SCOPE grading. All invitations will be sent out by the ESC.

In past years, this procedure has been very successful in delivering high-quality proposals to the ESC SCOPE process, ensuring a selection of the best for ESC Congress. Direct submissions of basic science session proposals by individuals to the SCOPE process are normally unsuccessful. We therefore strongly encourage you to contribute again to this process. To submit your proposals, simply click on the "Submit" button below.

You are required to give:

  • A title for the session proposal
  • Session topic and type
  • Names and details of chairpersons (name, city, country, email)
  • Titles for three presentations, names and details of speakers
  • Names of the respective speakers (ideally not more than two from the same country and none from the same lab - this also applies to the Chairs)

At this stage no agreement from the speakers and chairs is required.

The primary focus is on the scientific quality of the proposals and their suitability for  ESC Congress attendees. This may be based on state-of-the-art, basic science content and/or relevant translational aspects.
Please submit by 31 July to allow us to screen, review and discuss your proposals. On behalf of the CBCS, we would like to thank you in advance for your support.

With best regards,

Christian Weber, Chair of the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science

Johann Wojta, Chairperson Elect – Johannes Waltenberger, Past-Chair – Paul Evans, Secretary – Imo Hoefer, Treasurer
