2nd European Spring School on the Science and Practice of Venous Thromboembolism

Add to calendar04/05/20150:00 10/05/20150:00 Europe/Paris 2nd European Spring School on the Science and Practice of Venous Thromboembolism true DD/MM/YYYY

The School was organized by the Center for Thrombosis  and  Hemostasis (CTH) at the University Medical Center Mainz, Germany, in collaboration with the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), The Netherlands, and with the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, as the local host.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is the third most frequent cardiovascular disease. It has an annual incidence of over 100 cases per 100,000 population and is responsible for approximately 12% of all deaths in European countries each year.

Based on the feedback received after the First Spring School in 2013, a number of improvements and innovations has been included to the programme of the Second Spring School, in particular:

  • State of the Art Plenary Lectures, Clinical Seminars, Oral and Moderated Poster Presentations in the morning sessions
  • Breakout Workshops (parallel interactive sessions, from which the participants have been able to choose among a total of 12 offered workshops) in the afternoon sessions
  • Keynote Lectures in the evening sessions
  • Meet the Scientist/Trialist conversations at dinner
