Lipids and cardiovascular disease, ESC and the Lancet

ESC Congress Report

View the Slides from this session in ESC Congress 365

The Lancet session on lipids provided a comprehensive and authoritative summary of the role of LDL, HDL cholesterols and triglycerides in cardiovascular disease.
The talks were given by leading authorities in the field. The  session briefly covered biochemistry and biology, followed by the history of lipids and cardiovascular disease before focusing on recent trials on lipid-altering drugs.
Finally there was anticipation of where the field might be as current trials are completed. The presentations (which are also published in The Lancet) provided all a cardiologist needs to know about the lipids and cardiovascular disease.
