Press registration

To get your press accreditation, please send a request to with the mandatory following credentials:

•    A valid and nominative press card or an appropriate letter of assignment
•    Three recent published articles (cardiology, health-related, or ESC event related)
•    A scan of the embargo form dully filled out

Please note that the ESC Press Office will verify the received documents before confirming your registration by email.

Company or media outlet business cards or membership cards will not be accepted as valid. Press registration is not available to Industry or its Public Relations representatives, event management, marketing or communications representatives, even if they have a valid press card.

Continuing medical education (CME)

Acute Cardiovascular Care 2016 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) for 15 CME credits.

Certificates of attendance will be available at the Registration desks from Sunday 16 October at 12:00 until the end of the congress.

Invitation letter

Such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates raise travel funds or obtain a visa. Please note, however, this does not bind the ESC to provide financial support.


Please check with your local embassy what documents are needed to obtain a visa for Portugal.

Official agency for AIFA submissions (Prerichiesta AIFA)

According to Italian legislation, any Marketing Authorisation Holder or pharmaceutical company responsible for the commercialisation of a drug, which organises or helps to organise, whether by direct or indirect funding in Italy or abroad, a congress, or a meeting on topics in any way related to the use of medicines, shall notify the competent Unit of the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) at least 60 days before the date of the event to ensure that these adhere to strict technical criteria and aim to provide further knowledge in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, biochemistry, physiology, pathology and clinical medicine.

AIM Group International has been appointed as the official agency for AIFA submission to support sponsors and exhibitors with these formalities. Pharmaceutical companies which require the authorisation from AIFA are advised to contact:
