The Spanish presidency of the EU dedicates a conference to CVD prevention

CVD high on the EU agenda again

Ten years after a Presidency declaration on cardiovascular diseases, Spain takes the opportunity of presiding the European Council again to bring CVD back on the EU agenda with a 2-day conference.

In 2000, Spain officially acknowledged the burden of CVD in Europe and called the European Commission and Member States for action.

The conference to be held on 18 & 19 February will review the progress in European policy since 2000; it will identify gaps in existing prevention strategies and will show best practice, in the perspective of a EU strategy on CVD prevention.
